How does the FSA/HSA process work for purchases?Updated 2 months ago

If you’re buying a subscription, here’s how it works:

  1. Complete your subscription purchase by using your normal payment method.
  2. After checkout, click the link provided to be directed to TrueMed’s website.
  3. Answer a short questionnaire to become HSA/FSA eligible.
  4. Receive a “Letter of Medical Necessity” from TrueMed.
  5. To get reimbursed, submit the letter, along with your Supergut receipt and any other necessary documents, to your HSA/FSA provider.


If you’re buying a one-time order, here’s what to do:

  1. Upon checkout, choose the “TrueMed - Pay with HSA/FSA” option. After clicking “Pay now”, you will be redirected to Truemed to complete your purchase securely.
  2. You’ll need to take a private health survey (on the same day of purchase). A licensed provider will review your answers to determine eligibility.
  3. If approved, you can then complete your purchase. You can pay in full using your HSA/FSA card, pay normally with your credit/debit card, and submit for reimbursement after, or split it with your HSA/FSA and another card.
  4. If you choose to pay normally with your credit/debit card and submit for reimbursement after, you'll receive your “Letter of Medical Necessity”  from TrueMed. To get reimbursed, submit the letter, along with your Supergut receipt and any other necessary documents, to your HSA/FSA provider.
